Google Plus is Google’s (largest search engine… Ever) attempt to rule the social media world. If you didn’t think you need to advertise on Google Plus, think again.
Yes, Facebook boasts about 1.5 billion registered users. Sure, Twitter is huge. Google, on the other hand, with their myriad of services- now they account for about 25% of all internet traffic throughout the entire continent of North America alone, something that no one else even comes close to.
Google Plus may appear just another social media outlet, which it is- but that isn’t all it is. No, there are much more impending reasons to advertise your content on Google Plus.
Google +1, Share, and SEO
#2. The absolute greatest thing (in my opinion) about Google Plus, and the sole reason above all others to use it in your marketing plan: quality material that is posted is automatically indexed. But of course there is so much more!
Now, keep in mind- Google does not take well to duplicate content; don’t post multiple times (use Google Circles). Make sure your post is set to ‘Public’ as well as any one, or all, of your circles. There also must be enough content for Google to consider it ‘original’.
#3. The ‘Plus 1’ button is a way of showing you agree with a post, like an up-vote. Even better, the number of plus 1’s a post gets tells Google how popular it is. In other words, it works a bit like Google PageRank, letting the search engine know it’s relevance.
#4. Google’s ‘share’ is pretty common sense; advertise on google plus by sharing the post. Like Pinterest re-pins, the more shares a post has, the greater the potential for exposure. I would gladly ramble on, but it would be easier just to read this fine piece of knowledge.
Want your little corner of cyberspace to go viral? Pay attention to these two aspects, don’t miss the article above, and advertise on Google Plus..
#5. Advertise On Google Plus For Improved SEO
If you advertise on Google Plus, will your pages actually rank higher? In a way, most certainly!
As we all know, the number of factors accounted for by Google’s search algorithms is ridiculous; probably the most accurate list I have seen contained 200, and they change frequently. However, the amount of attention a post receives, in the form of plus 1’s, likes, and impressions lets the search giant know how relevant and popular it is. Like Pinterest re-pins, greater popularity means more exposure.
How do you get your material shared? Use quality, clean and appealing images (I used Canva to create the images you see on this page), create relevant and attractive titles, and post just enough text to entice viewers to click, linking back to your material.
#7. Ease of Use
Clear and concise, google plus is fantastically easy to use! On top of that, Google Plus Help of course provides wonderful little tutorials for every little topic.
#8. Draw More Attention To Other Social Media
The best way to draw attention to other forms of social media is to… advertise on other forms of social media! Grab Facebook users, appeal toward Twitter-ers! Indeed, Social Media Optimization refers to the use of all social media platforms to expand reach.
“I think making your own Google+ community and joining other communities in your niche is a good way of expanding your SEO campaign.” -Norman Rinser
Thank you; I couldn’t have said it better myself! Communities are what Google Plus is built around, their ‘soul’ if you will. I don’t even know where to start- get me going, and we would be here all day! So, for short- this is a strategy I have noticed those really big social media experts, the ones with hundreds of thousands of followers on Google Plus, using.
They all have at least one community, some four, and I have joined many communities myself. Why do they do this? To appeal to as many users as possible!
If you care to check out one of the communities I have created, you can find it Here. I look forward to hearing from you!
