How do you design the perfect blog post? Hey- no worries; it’s actually not that complicated at all! The whole process is actually kind of fun, like building Lego castles when you were young! You remember all those fun little strategic buildings and spaceships you built, right?
Writing the Perfect Blog Post: Where to Start
There isn’t exactly one ‘perfect’ way to attack this; your posts will look different depending on how your blog is structured, but there are some really important rules you want to follow. Here’s the list!
Try to write like you’re talking to a friend, not formatting a college level thesis. Here’s the deal- you’re writing the ‘perfect blog post’ to entertain, not turning in a graded assignment; no need to worry about exact structure. This isn’t grade school! But hey- in all reality, reading words on a computer screen is a lot different than relaxing with your favorite book.
Blog With Pictures!
Make your perfect blog post look attractive. Appeal to your audience- and guess what? People are so extremely visual these days.Trust me, they want to see useful, attractive, colorful pictures! Your pictures are also great to ‘break up’ the monotony of long, boring text.
Even though I’m not writing this blog post according to any exact ‘style’ (Ugh- wonder what my professors would have to say about this), poor spelling and bad overall grammar is really, really unattractive. First off, people don’t like to see that kind of thing- it turns your whole post… ugly. If you are trying to educate on a topic- there goes your credibility!
Don’t Forget the Sub-headings
Use Sub-headings (<h2>, <h3>) to help categorize your info and make your posts seem easier to read. I used two of them already! Your post should have one general idea (this one is- you guessed it- How to write your perfect blog post), but a bunch of smaller ‘sub- topics’ within (depending on the purpose). Whenever you decide to add a new topic, throw in a sub-heading!
For an added bonus- they’re also beneficial for SEO (which I’ll talk about next). Depending on my topic, I usually like to include photos right below my sub-heading, but it doesn’t really matter.
Search Engine Optimization (For the Savvy Blogger)
This might be my least favorite part of the whole blogging process because it can seem… overwhelming. There are so many rules search engine algorithms use to rank a source (what and where something shows up in your search bar), but again- a few basic guidelines exist to cover everything!
Do you use WordPress for your blog? If you do, Yoast SEO is probably the best search engine optimization related plugin there is! And even better- it’s 100% Free!
This is the one most basic and most important concept, as far as SEO goes; if you’re writing about a certain topic, and want to rank for that topic, make sure to use words and phrases that relate to it! Search engines, like Google, use mathematical algorithms called ‘spiders’ to ‘crawl’ your pages and figure out what your articles are all… about. They count the number of times related words/phrases are used, and use the info to learn what your article ‘means’.
Example: I titled this article “How to Design the Perfect Blog Post”, which is exactly what it is supposed to be about- writing a good blog post. So of course I’m going to use those phrases multiple times within this article! I’ll re-arrange them too, like ‘How to Blog Well’, and ‘Writing Great Blog Articles’, or maybe ‘Writing Great Blog Content’.
- It’s normally a good idea to space them out, and not bunch your key-phrases together like that. Oops!
Hey- here’s a more descriptive article I’ve written specifically about SEO! You’ll love it. (:

Do you advertise your writing on social media? If not, you’re sure missing out on all kinds of blog traffic!
How to Make Money Blogging
Here’s the part everyone’s been waiting for! Who doesn’t want to do what they love, writing great blog posts, and get paid to do it? You get to lounge in the comfort of your own home, choose your own hours, take breaks when you want, listen to whatever music you want- doesn’t it sound fantastic?

Fill Writing Orders on Fiverr
It is indeed possible to make money blogging with fiverr! Sure, most orders out there are little $5 things, but some people do actually pay good money for writers. In fact, I am working on a $70 and a $50 project right now (on top of a few small ones), just from fiverr alone! Hey- that’s $130 for just two projects; not too shabby.
