I like to use Tailwind, a free Pinterest app, for easy to follow at a glance weekly Pinterest growth metrics. You can easily see what pins are more popular than others, and how many times they have been saved that particular week (right).
*Note: This image is a combination of three different Tailwind pages for the same user.
For everything else, I use BoardBooster, an extremely convenient automated Pinterest pinning tool. BoardBooster not only displays the same set of analytics in a different fashion, but a few others Tailwind doesn’t (like monitoring my own group boards). But that isn’t the main reason I use it.
*Note: This is only a small sample of BoardBooster’s capabilities.
My BoardBooster Strategy: I rely on the ‘Random Campaign’ option to pull pins from two select boards, one containing only my Pinterest pins and the other various separate Pinterest Pinners in my niche, to a select number of group boards I belong to with high ‘repin’ ratios. Thanks to BoardBooster’s detailed selection tools, no one pin will duplicate in a 3o day period, ensuring no pins are ever duplicated to the same boards in a month’s time.
Using this strategy, my domain pins are automatically set on a continuous rotational ‘loop’, ensuring the best exposure possible and saving me all kinds of time! In fact, I use this method for all of my clients.
Pinterest also offers a simple ‘at a glance’ set of analytics to measure your overall impact. Since you have so many pins floating around the Pintraverse, I like to measure the 30-day top performers with this.
Of course, you are probably more concerned with the end goal- your website traffic, right? After all, Pinterest is only a medium to drive traffic to Hustle & Heart Fitness. In that department, neither of these Pinterest tracking programs come close to the analytic reporting power of Google!
At a glance with Google Business:
Or a bit more in depth:
This is for the past 30 days, April 21st.- May 21st. I like the way your traffic forms a nice wavy pattern. (: It reminds me of an EKG!
This is a bit ironic- notice how your Facebook traffic isn’t even a 15th of your Pinterest traffic? Though the social media boasts over 1.6 billion active accounts, even the most experienced Facebook marketer in the world would find it very difficult to match Pinterest’s marketing potential without a massive budget and an enormous amount of time.
Remember that popular Beachbody coach we spoke of about a week ago, the one who derives her traffic from Facebook? I bet you she is losing all kinds of money & clients, especially with her reputation, ignoring Pinterest’s potential.
Here you can see your social traffic dwarfing the other avenues. Unfortunately, Wix doesn’t cater to Google and SEO the way WordPress does. They do seem to be improving (though very slowly). On the other hand, Wix makes up for its’ faults through simplicity; there is very little learning curve in comparison!
Despite all of that, your traffic and popularity will help boost your status with search engines. (:
Tracking Your Domain Pins
Did you notice the url at the top search box of the screenshot above? By inserting
(in this case, https://www.pinterest.com/source/hustleandheartfitness.com/ ), you can see both all of the pins viewers have saved directly from your website, and how many times said pins have been saved. This is a very useful trick I use for all of my clients; it tells me how people are engaging with site material.
Keep in mind- the numbers on the bottom right corner of these pins are a bit deceiving; they don’t always account for your pin’s overall success as much as each every time a pin is saved. Notice the number may be two or so above, but in truth rests somewhere in the hundreds or thousands. A nice example would be the yellow and green ‘Shakology’ pins you see in the middle there.
Growth and Expansion
Both that Lemon Cake pin, and the Cookie Dough Shakeology pin to the right of it, were published back in September of 2016. Though Facebook or Twitter posts are only effective for a day or so before traffic disappears, Pinterest pins continue to drive traffic and gain popularity for, essentially, forever! Pinterest only becomes more effective over time, which is one reason most bloggers prefer it over any other social media outlet.
Who Was the Mastermind Behind this Set of Analytics?
That would be my good friend, successful Beachbody coach and nutrition guru Nicole, owner of Hustle and Heart Fitness! Nicole and I have been growing her Pinterest together for the past few months, leading up to the absolutely Insane metrics you see above!
Are you a Food or Nutrition blogger, and want your blog traffic to look like Nicole’s above? Are you sick of spending hours on the perfect recipe post, only to have no one actually see it?
I bet you want every single post you create open to tens of thousands of viewers (and not just a few friends).
If taking your Pinterest marketing to the next level and accessing a whole new wave of popularity you never thought possible is something you want, send me a message!
Let’s talk about what I can do for you.
